Last month I published an article about HIV-centric tattoos, which introduced us to the biohazard symbol and scorpion as the most common tattoos chosen to identify being HIV-positive, but we also found other variations, such as the lightning symbol and wasp that also carry a positive connotation or energy. After publishing that article, a friend of mine mentioned something symbolic he did to feel closer to the virus and I thought it was a fantastic idea, so I did it too!
We both agree that getting a biohazard tattoo is something that appeals to the both of us, but since we are still HIV-negative, we don’t yet feel qualified to get inked with a biohazard symbol, as permanent ink is more of a symbol of achievement and we haven’t reached that level of positive success yet. That’s when he told me about what he did and said he was happy for me to do it too, plus he’s happy for me to share the information for anyone else who might be interested.

Jewellery for anyone on the bug chasing path is a fantastic idea, because thinking about bug chasing is a mental thing, whereas attaching a piece of positive jewellery to your body adds a physical energy, which is very symbolic and can help you fully appreciate where you are at. There are also different designs you can choose from, so you can personalise your purchase and because the jewellery can be worn whenever you want, you can decide when the time is right. I take my pendant off when I am sleeping, even though I would love to keep wearing it all night, because the chain is very fine, so I’m worried it might break during the night.
